Own A Second sells advertising slots based on the 86,400 seconds in a 24-hour day. Each second can be purchased once. Purchasers may select the packages offered on the Buy Time page, at the price displayed at the time of purchase. The price you pay is the price shown at checkout; later price changes never affect completed purchases.

Each company may hold a maximum of 60 seconds in total within a cycle, so that space stays available to as many advertisers as possible. If you would like more than 60 seconds, please email us at hello@ownasecond.ai and we will see what we can arrange.

All uploaded logos and images are subject to manual review and approval before appearing on the homepage. We reserve the right to reject any image that is inappropriate, offensive, misleading, or in breach of any law. We will normally tell you why an image has been rejected, although we are not obliged to provide a detailed legal or technical justification.

Where an image simply needs improving - for example poor quality or the wrong dimensions - we will normally contact you first and give you the chance to supply a replacement, so your seconds are held for you. If a submission is formally rejected, the seconds you selected are released immediately and become available for anyone else to buy. You are welcome to submit again, but the seconds would need to be purchased afresh and may no longer be available. See "Refunds" below.

Full payment is required at the time of purchase. Prices are listed in GBP (£) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Once a second has been purchased and approved, it is considered sold for the remainder of that cycle. See "Cycles & archiving" below for what happens once a cycle's seconds have all been sold.

Own A Second runs in cycles of 86,400 seconds - one for every second in a 24-hour day. While a cycle is running, your purchased second(s) display your logo every day for as long as that cycle continues.

A cycle is complete once all of its available seconds have been sold, or where we reasonably determine that it should be closed for operational reasons. When a cycle is complete, it is closed and permanently archived. The archive is a fixed historical record - a snapshot of exactly who owned each second at the moment the cycle sold out - and it does not change after that point. You can browse every past cycle from its own permanent archive page.

After a cycle is archived, we may release some or all of those same 86,400 seconds for sale again as part of a new cycle. Your seconds are not offered for resale until at least 90 days after your purchase, and your logo remains live on the homepage until your exact second(s) are actually re-purchased by someone else. When seconds from a completed cycle are re-offered for sale, the earliest purchases are re-offered first, so the most recent buyers keep their protection longest. If a second you previously purchased is released and bought by someone else in a later cycle, your logo will no longer display live on the homepage from that point onward - however, your original purchase remains permanently visible on that cycle's archive page as part of the historical record. Where we can, we will let you know by email before releasing seconds from a completed cycle, to the address you gave at checkout. Beyond the 90-day protection above, we cannot promise a minimum notice period, since release timing depends on demand and on operational needs, and may sometimes happen at short notice.

If we reject your image because it breaches these terms - for example because it is illegal, pornographic, infringes someone else's rights, or is deliberately misleading - no refund is due. In that situation the purchase is cancelled because of a breach on your part, and the seconds are released for sale to others.

If we reject your image for any other reason, or decline to run your advertisement for reasons of our own, we will refund what you paid in full.

We do not offer refunds once an image has been approved and displayed on the homepage, including where a second is later released and resold as part of a new cycle after its original cycle has been archived.

By submitting a website URL, you confirm that you own or have permission to link to that website, and that the destination website does not contain illegal, harmful, or fraudulent content. We are not responsible for the content of any third-party website linked from our platform.

By uploading a logo or image, you warrant that you own the copyright to it, or that you have all necessary rights and permission to use and publicly display it. You remain solely responsible for ensuring your image does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

Licence to display your image. We do not claim any ownership of images you upload - they remain yours. However, in order to run your advertisement we need your permission to use them. By uploading an image, you grant Own A Second a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, resize where reasonably necessary, display and communicate that image to the public, for the purpose of providing the advertising service you have purchased, and to promote Own A Second itself, for example by featuring your advertisement on our own social media channels or in marketing material about the site. Because completed cycles are kept as a permanent historical record, this licence continues in respect of archived cycles after your booking has ended. It does not permit us to use your image for any other purpose, and we will never sell it or license it to anyone else.

By completing a purchase, you agree that your logo/image and website link will be displayed publicly on Own A Second, including permanently in cycle archives. Your company or brand name is not displayed publicly.

We may remove or suspend any advertisement at any time where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or infringes another person's legal rights, or where we are required to do so by law or by a court order. Where we receive a credible complaint that an uploaded image infringes someone else's rights, we may remove it from display while the matter is resolved, without obligation to provide a refund.

You may not upload, link to, or advertise any of the following:

• Illegal content, hate speech, or material that infringes anyone else's rights
• Pornographic or sexually explicit material
• Malware, viruses, phishing pages, or anything designed to harm or deceive visitors
• Counterfeit goods, or goods you are not lawfully entitled to sell
• Scams, pyramid schemes, or misleading investment or financial promotions
• Content impersonating another person, business or brand
• Unlawful gambling
• False or defamatory statements about any person or business
• Content that is misleading about what is being offered

You also may not attempt to disrupt, hack, or interfere with the operation of this website, or use automated systems to purchase seconds in a way that circumvents fair access for others.

These rules apply for the whole time your advertisement is running, not only at the point you submit it. Your website must continue to meet them. If you change where your link points, or the destination changes so that it no longer complies, that is a breach of these Terms and we may remove your advertisement immediately, without refund.

We do not guarantee any specific level of traffic, exposure, enquiries, sales, or other business outcome resulting from your advertisement.

We aim to keep the site available at all times, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for interruptions caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including scheduled or emergency maintenance, internet or network failures, failures of our hosting or payment providers, or other events beyond our reasonable control. Where the site is unavailable for a prolonged period, we will consider extending affected bookings by a comparable period.

Where you are buying as a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

• death or personal injury caused by our negligence
• fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
• any other liability which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded

If you are buying as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of Own A Second, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also benefit from mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings under the law of the country where you live.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
